Rage - that's how Filipinos feel about Susan Mayer's coarse remark against professional doctors who graduated from the Philippines. The indignation started when Mayer said during a medical consultation: "Can I check those diplomas because I want to make sure that they're not from some med school in the Philippines?" Those lines degrade not only health professionals from the Philippines but also the Filipinos as individuals.
Mayer's slanderous joke may be 100% fictitious but the Philippines is a 100% real nation. Filipinos everywhere are offended and are demanding an apology from the producers of the US television series "Desperate Housewives".
The Philippine Medical Association (PMA) and the Philippine Nurses Association are now sending a complaint to the United States Federal Communications Commission (US FCC) and the World Medical Association to remedy the issue. As a Filipino health professional, I agree with my colleagues and fellowmen that the show must rectify the slur.
Susan Mayer, we are not going to let your words discriminate our education, profession, race, and country. Desperate racist, back off!

Who wrote the script? Or was it from her? That is a very degrading remark. Filipino doctors and nurses are very well respected over here in the US. They have passed rigorous exams to be able to practice here and very well deserve the same respect as any American born and educated individual. The reason they are importing people from the Philippines is that they are lacking people with brains to take nursing and medicine over here.
Disregard my video comment, I saw the video. It's really unnecessary to actually put such a thing in a script.

listen here, i dont know why you are hating on teri, she is an actress who is payed to act. She is told what to say and when to say it . Its not her fault. if you are going to have a go at anyone let it be the creators and still it was a stupid comment. And why is mygoodinds going on about america, whats america got to do with it ??? You know the show is played around the world.??An from experience, fillo doctors are no good anyway...

Funny. Im not against Philippines at all, but it's so _desperate_ how some people trying to attack her. First and most important, everyone has the freedom of choice. Your decision can be made by ANY DAMN REASON you want. _Especially_ when it comes to your body not just your car, handbag or else. I dont have to be right but If I feel better to put myself under a knife of someone who is not from the Philippines, that's damn enough. I dont need anybody's justification for my decision. I would chose whatever I feel the best for myself, period. Second thing is, you cant blame only her, there is hundreds of ppl behind that big pile crap of a show. So, dont you try tell people how and what reason do they need to make their decisions, just keep yours the way you want and back the fuck off. By the way, I hate her and all this type of swallow brainwashing stipid-ass tv shows. But I also hate when someone trying to tell an individual, how he/she should choose.
